Calathea Louisae "Thai Beauty"

This plant has a deep green base colour overlaid with lighter, feathery variegation running out from the central vein – often described as brushstroke-like or hand-painted. The leaves can grow quite large, giving it a lush, tropical, statement-piece presence. 

A stunning addition to any plant collection, this plant comes with slightly more responsibility than the Zanzibar gem. It requires bright indirect light, making it perfect for an east-facing windowsill. It requires high humidity, either by placing it in a bathroom or kitchen or by misting the leaves with water. Water well and frequently, do not allow the soil to dry out between waterings, approximately every 5-10 days. Water with filtered water or room temperature boiled water. Fertilize fortnightly in the Spring and Summer. Clean leaves with either a damp cloth or running water when required.
